Bioderma Cicabio the french Kbeauty Cica cream?

Kbeauty Cica balms are still very popular. They are meant to repair an impaired skin barrier. They have been around in France for years as many French brands are focused on skin healing.

What I love the most about the Bioderma Cicabio line is how well it is formulated: 100% irritant-free, full of humectants, very moisturizing and so affordable. The whole line contains the same actives derived from Centella Asiatica and is fragrance-free, essential oils free, alcohol-free….

Centella Asiatica

There are close to 31 studies that associate Centella Asiatica with wound healing, calming eczema, dermatoses, and psoriasis… The active components are centelloids: Asiatic acid, Madecassic, and Asiaticoside. What I love about them is that they are « old » actives. Early reports date from the 80’s. There are safe ingredients.

If your skin is impaired sunscreen is an absolute requirement. The Bioderma soothing repairing cream care is very emollient and uses state of the Art UV filters:

There is no white cast.

The UV filters are blended with beautiful humectants characteristic of Bioderma MANNITOL, XYLITOL, RHAMNOSE and features 3 extracts of Centella Asiatica (ASIATICOSIDE, ASIATIC ACID, MADECASSIC ACID) with one soothing peptide (ACETYL DIPEPTIDE-1 CETYL ESTER). Last but not least, it has Zinc and Copper to control bacteria proliferation and antioxidants (Ectoin and vitamin E)

If you have oily skin this sunscreen won’t be for you for sure. Do not use it around your eyes. Instead, use another sunscreen.

The soothing stick SP50+ is fairly similar and use the same filters (Titanium dioxide is added) and actives. The differences with the sunscreen cream are mainly the emollients. I love the fact it has beeswax and Jojoba esters making it deeply emollient. That’s an amazing everyday lip scree .

Cicabio Pommade and Crème

Those two babies are also amazing. The cream is less moisturizing while the pomade is thick and will insulate the skin.

Humectants

Glycerine, fructooligosaccharides, mannitol, hyaluronic acid, xylitol, rhamnose. Both formulas share the same humectants.

Soothing ingredients

Centelloids are the stars of the show: Asiatic acid, Madecassic, and Asiaticoside). One peptide (acetyl dipeptide 1 acetyl ester) has some calming benefit to it. I love the fact that it has redundancy and not only rely on one active.
