Paula’s Choice Omega complex

I don’t have dry skin but I love my skincare to be rich in emollients. Paula’s choice Omega complex serum and cream surf on the “natural” vibe using omega from flaxseed, chia, and other oils. In the end, what makes a product good is the formula and not if it’s “natural” or not.

Like I usually do, I will break down each ingredient into categories. As a reminder, humectants are molecules that attract water and emollients lock the water in.

Paula’s choice resist OMEGA+ COMPLEX SERUM

The serum is an oil-based serum and it features several interesting oils and lipids.

Emollients

flax seed oil (Linum Usitatissimum Seed Oil) rich in Omega 3, Linoleic acid (omega 6), Linolenic (omega 3), Passion fruit oil (Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil) around 70% linoleic acid, chia seed oil rich in Omega 3, 5 ceramides (Eop, Eos, Np, Ns, Ap), precursors of ceramides (Caprooyl Sphingosine), cholesterol, shea butter,  plump oil (Prunus domestica seed oil).

Humectants:

Glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, trehalose. There are not a lot of humectants but the good ones are here.

Antioxidants:

antioxidants from oils,  Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (a liposoluble derivative of vitamin C), vitamin E

The texture:

A light smooth creamy texture. Very pleasant to use

Conclusion:

This serum is perfect to add a layer of emollient between your water-based serum and your face cream. If your skin is dry it is a must-have!

The texture:

It is a cream that has a lightweight despite the fact it is very emollient.

My conclusion:

This cream is packed with beautiful emollients no doubt about that. It contains key components of the skin barrier. Because of this, it is a great moisturizer to consider if you are looking to heal your skin. If you want the deep moisturizer, combine the serum and the cream. Like all Paula’s choice products there are irritant and perfume free.
