Please don’t kill me to not have shared this beautiful moisturizer before. This moisturizer is cheaper than The Ordinary Natural moisturizing factors and I find it performs better ! I present you the Klairs Supple preparations All over lotion.
I am going to break down the formula into different categories. I will only high lights the most interesting ingredients.
Humectants
Glycerin, hyaluronic acid, amino acids and probably some of the botanical extracts.
Glycerin and hyaluronic acid are classic but excellent humectants. The amino acids are at the end of the formula so they may be pretty useless. There are a lot of non-fragrant botanical extracts that could be humectants too.
Emollients
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (aka free fatty acids), Shea Butter, jojoba oil, stearic acid, microcrystalline wax, ceramide NP…
The emollients are so so good in this formula. It is a beautiful blend and for the price it is amazing.
Skin-soothing ingredients
Beta-glucan and Centella Asiatica extract mainly.
There are not many soothing ingredients but both are excellent.
Botanical extracts
Anise extracts, grapefruit extracts, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract (supposedly antioxidant)…
There are a lot of non-fragrant botanical extracts, often with no proper scientific data. That doesn’t mean they are necessarily bad but we are in the unknown.
Antioxidants
Vitamin E, some of the botanical extract, a derivative of vitamin C (sodium ascorbyl phosphate).
This moisturizer is not antioxidant. Also, the sodium ascorbyl phosphate is not antioxidant and appears at the end of the formula.
The texture and finish
The texture is a smooth creamy lotion that turns into a watery essence. The texture is simply divine and the finish is slightly mat. It is a very impressive and modern texture.
Notorious allergen
None but be careful of the botanical extracts
My conclusions
I have been using the All-over lotion for a very long time and I love it. It is an excellent moisturizer for normal to dry and normal to combination skin. What I love the most is how versatile it is. You can use it as a mixer for your actives, under a thicker moisturizer, all over your body, as an eye mask, as a hand cream… If you have oily skin you can dilute it with a toner or essence. On the contrary, if you have dry skin layer on top a more occlusive moisturizer. Last but not least, the Supple preparation All over lotion is one of those lightweight Asian creams that are moisturizing despite the lightweight feel. You pay $26.50 for 250ml (8.50oz) ! For the price and the quality of the formula, it is unbeatable and I’m in love!
