Hada Labo the best brand on the planet!

Hada Labo is one of my favorite brands and I almost love all their products. They are almost ticking all I look for in skincare: safe formula, fragrance-free, tone of humectants, excellent texture, affordable price… It doesn’t often happen that I love so many products from a brand.

Because I love so much this brand I have tested a lot of their products. For once I am not going to review in-depth the formulas but will focus on the main ingredients. I will talk about how I use them in my video.

All Hada Labo products are fragrance-free and irritant-free making this brand suitable for all skin types. Obviously, oily skin type won’t use the same product as dry skin.

Hada Labo Cleansers

Hada Labo has 3 cleansers: an oil cleanser, a foam cleanser, and a cream cleanser.

The oil is thin and very nice to use, it emulsions nicely without stripping the skin.

The foam cleanser produces a delicate foam that is extremely gentle while the cream cleanser has stronger cleansing properties. The foam is targeted for dry and sensitive skin while the cream is more suited for combination to oily skin. Both are acidic.

Hada Labo Lotions

Hada Labo is the most famous for their lotions. In reality, there are toners or essence whatever the name and are meant to be used just after cleansing the face.

Gokujyun lotion

This lotion contains glycerine and 2 forms of hyaluronic acid. It is very simple but very efficient.

Gokujyun premium lotion

This lotion is the most hydrating one. It is can replace a serum. It has 5 forms of hyaluronic acid, urea, complex sugar… This formula is simply incredible.

Hada Labo Essence or serum

This category is I would say very classic. I have only tried one from Hada Labo the Gokujyun essence and it is magnificent. The formula is extra simple but very moisturizing. It is basically a Hyaluronic serum (3 forms) that infuses the skin with water and it is so affordable.

Hada Labo Milks

Milks are a type of lotion. In terms of consistency, they are in between a lotion and an essence. I like them to add emollients and mix my actives. All the ones that I have tried are simply amazing.

Gokujyun milk

It is a nice moisturizing lotion. The two emollients are Hydrogenated Poly (C6-12 Olefin) a film-forming emollient and caprylic/capric triglyceride (free fatty acids) and of course hyaluronic acid. It is lightweight but still very efficient.

Gokujyun premium milk

If you are looking for a deep moisturizer that feels like a lotion it is the one. The emollients are dimethicone, mineral oil and squalane blended with 5 types go hyaluronic acid. It spread like a light lotion but it is very powerful.

Gokujyun alpha milk

The alpha milk is as moisturizing as the premium but the emollients are different: Hydrogenated Poly, caprylic/capric triglyceride, sunflower seed oil and hydrolyzed collagen, soy protein, hyaluronic acid an ester of retinol (retinyl palmitate)… This one is sold as anti-aging but it is not really. However, it is a great moisturizer in a milk form.

Hada Labo Gels

The Hada Labo gels are very different from what you would find in the western market. I have tested 3 gels and there are all different but again so good. They all come in massive jars of 100g and are affordable.

Hada Labo Koi-gokujyun 3D perfect gel

This gel is supposed to replace lotion (or toner), serum, milk, and moisturizer. It is true if you have oily skin. It can replace your toner and your serum easily. It has the 5 forms of Hyaluronic acid found in the premium lotion and has resveratrol… You can replace your lotion with this gel. It is like a firm gel that transforms into an essence. It is very skin entertaining and very hydrating.

Hada Labo Koi-gokujyun perfect gel

This gel is my favorite one it has the perfect blend of humectants and emollients and replaces a moisturizer. The main emollient is the game changer squalane (here to know more) and has a derivative of urea… Just sublime.

Hada Labo Koi-gokujyun whitening perfect gel

This is one is almost as moisturizing as the perfect gel but has powerhouse actives: tranexamic acid and 3-o-ethyl-ascorbic acid to treat hyperpigmentation. It also has glycerin, diglycerine, two forms of hyaluronic acid… I don’t have the concentration of actives but it is very interesting to have them especially for the price.

Hada Labo moisturizers

I have 3 moisturizers and they are all different and all excellent.

Hada Labo Gokujyun cream

If you are looking for a watery gel-cream lightweight but yet moisturizing, this is the one. It features squalane and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride as emollients and beautiful humectants: glycerin, diglycerin and two forms of hyaluronic acid. Simple but so efficient.

Hada Labo Gokujyun alpha cream

I like the lotion and the milk but the cream is incredible for dry skin. The blend of emollients is genius: mainly jojoba oil and free fatty acids with fantastic humectants (glycerin hydrolyzed collagen, hydrolyzed soy protein, hyaluronic acid)…  The texture is light and buttery. It is a bit tacky and perfect for dry skin.

Hada Labo Shirojyun premium cream

I think this is the most recent addition to Hada Labo cream and again it is fantastic. I have already talked about it in my post about tranexamic acid (here). This probably my favorite one. The emollients are squalane, shea butter and Meadowfoam Oil with two forms of hyaluronic acid. What is remarkable is the actives tranexamic acid, magnesium ascorbyl acid (probably third position) and vitamin E.

The texture is like a watery essence and yet it is super moisturizing. I love it, especially for hyperpigmentation.

Watch my video to know how to use those babies.

Thank you for your time.
